Donna Engelhardt
Donna's love for classical singing began when she was awarded the Kenosha Symphony Youth Scholarship while in college and was invited to perform her audition piece "Una Voce Poco Fa" with them on a subscription concert. After graduating from UW Milwaukee, she spent a year traveling as the lead singer on cruise ships. When she came back to Milwaukee, she was cast in a professional production of Steven Sondheim's "Company" where she met her husband, Chris. They have performed together in numerous shows, including "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat" in Lake Forest where Donna was the Narrator, Chris was Reuben, and all 3 of their sons were in the children's chorus. Other leading roles include Lily in "The Secret Garden", Abigail Adams in "1776", Lucy in "Jekyll and Hyde", Rosamund in "The Robber Bridegroom" and Daisy Hilton in "Side Show" which was named one of the Top 10 shows that year by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Donna has performed with Milwaukee's Skylight Opera Theater, the Milwaukee Opera Company, and the Chicago Light Opera Works, as Anna Held in "Tintypes". She has also performed numerous times with Lake County Symphony orchestra on pops concert and as the mother in "Amahl and the Night Visitors". She and Chris have starred in the 2 person Broadway hit "I Do! I Do!" several times in professional theaters in Wisconsin.
